3 ways to support Non-League Day

Non-league Day was an initiative created in 2010 by James Doe. The objective on the day is to come together and celebrate your local football non-league football club and to also shine some light on the volunteers and the other important people that give up their time to run the clubs.
The occasion always coincides with the international break so that Premier League and other clubs from the English Football Leagues can show their support, it also allows fans of bigger teams to take a break and try something a little different.
Here are some special events to spend your Non-league Day:
Altrincham Football Club
The Manchester based club will have loads of activities and special guests joining them for the big day.
They’re starting the day off strong as from 12pm the club will be in Stamford Quarter to host a children’s penalty shootout supported by their sponsors and will be doing giveaways to anyone that turns up.
Altrincham will carry on the celebrations before kick off with plenty of activities at their ground the J Davidson Stadium. This will include: Live music, Football freestyler Jay Rosa, first 100 fans (over 18) receive a free Strawberry Daiquiri in the CSH and a lot more.
Going into the evening, there will be picture/autograph session with the players.

Lancaster City
The Dolly Blues will be hosting some big giveaways throughout the day and fans will have a chance to win a match worn shirt and other memorabilia that represents City’s history. The money from the auction will go towards youth football initiatives so even more the reason to get involved.
Anther special NLD event Lancaster City will be hosting is a charity walk, this is in partnership with a local hospice and they will raise money for vital health care in the local area. Fans can join with any small donation and the walk will venture through the most scenic parts of the City.

Southport FC
The Yellows will be embracing their history this Non-league day, they will be showcasing their most moments over the years with a video montage which will be played on big screens all around the stadium. This will also include a meet and greet with some of the big legends of the club, the players will be sharing stories and signing autographs.
A more creative way to spice up NLD will insist of Southport hosting a local artist showcase, in partnership with local creative stars, they will have the chance to present their best work to the fans. From painters to sculptors there will be plenty on display to fulfil your artistic eyes.
