Southport Football Club sack head coach Jim Bentley

Southport Football Club have decided to part ways with their manager, Jim Bentley, and first team coach, Alan Morgan.

Jim Bentley hadn’t won a game in their last 5 matches, with their most recent game ending in a 1-0 defeat against Marine.

Bentley took over the Yellows in 2023 after arriving from Rochdale. When he took over, Southport were at the foot of the table with 1 point in their last 6 games. Bentley won the manager of the month award in November 2023.

Bentley had been sacked from two clubs previous to Southport, his stint at AFC Fylde was cut short after leaving them in 4th position and then year after Rochdale decided to part ways with Bentley after only winning 6 games in 32.

In a statement, the club wanted to show appreciation for the coaches, they said:
