This weekend, in the Northern Premier Division, it is a relegation three-pointer at the Irongate Stadium, where Bamber Bridge hosts Matlock Town.
One point separates the two teams: the Gladiators in 19th place and the Brig in 17th place.
It is a massive game for both, and a win for either side could extend one's escape from the drop or help another climb out.
Jamie Milligan's side have one win in their last five games, with their last game being a 2-1 defeat away at Gainsborough.
There was also some controversy in the game when Brig were denied a penalty in the final few minutes when there was a handball, but the linesmen and referee believed it wasn’t a penalty.
The visitors to Irongate are winless in their last ten league games, with five draws and five defeats. This is a tough situation for Matlock Town.
Ryan Cresswell's side last won in January, when they won 2-1 at home against Prescot Cables.
Jack Baxter and Simon Grand are now the club's top goal scorers after Altrincham recalled loanee Lucas Weaver.
As for the Gladiators, Montel Gibson is their top goalscorer, with 15 goals in the league so far this season, which is truly astonishing for a striker in a team in the relegation zone.
