We had the privilege of travelling to the Irongate Stadium in Lancashire for a relegation three-pointer between Bamber Bridge and Matlock Town FC.
Brig would be victorious, dispatching the Gladiators in a 3-0 win after a dominant second-half display.
Here are our thoughts on a matchday experience at the Northern Premier Division ground.
Attendance- 2/5
Due to poor form in the league, Brig’s attendance has suffered this season. From getting 600 at home, they are now seeing attendance in the 300s.
So, for this game, it has to be 2/5, considering past attendance.

Atmosphere- 1/5
Due to low attendance and a tough time on and off the pitch, there was a rather quiet atmosphere, with no singing from the home fans at all, but there was a cheer when the goals went in.
So for that, it can’t be higher than a one.
On the eye- 3/5
Irongate is a rather lovely stadium, it is old-fashioned and has a quality sitting stand.
It has a really nice viewing point for hospitality, where you also get drinks from the bar behind.
However, the opposite end needs some work doing to it, and if they do, it would get an improved rating.

Facilities- 3/5
The facilities at Brig were great, offering a fantastic variety of food and drink options following its summer revamp.
In addition to the indoor bar, where fans can enjoy drinks and watch other football games before the main event begins.
However the Jacket Potato I had on the day had way to much butter and overpowered the rest of the Potato with Cheese and Beans.
If that was better it would have been a 4/5.

Class- 3/5
It’s an old-fashioned ground, and it has brilliant volunteers from top to bottom who treat you with respect.
The viewing area of the stadium are good, with plenty of options with and without cover.

Overall- 12/25
It was a really good experience at Brig and made for a memorable time at Irongate Stadium.
Hopefully, attendances can rise, and the atmosphere can become louder with fans.
Either way this should be a ground you should visit.
