We travelled to Longridge, Lancashire to take a look around Inglewhite Road for Longridge Town’s Lancashire FA Trophy, semi-final tie against Southport FC.
Southport progressed through to the final with a 1-0 win, but the game wasn’t short of entertainment for a neutral, with a late penalty for The Ridge being saved, securing the win for the away team.
Here are our thoughts on a matchday experience at the North West County, Premier Division ground.
Attendance – 3/5
Southport FC’s travelling fans showed up in a large number and the attendance at the ground was evenly split between the two clubs.
For a freezing Tuesday night, the turnout was very impressive from both sets of supporters.

Atmosphere – 1/5
There wasn’t much singing or chanting from either fanbase and with the two sets being mixed it was difficult for the atmosphere to really pick up.
Nonetheless, it was still a very enjoyable experience.
On the eye – 3/5
It was a surprisingly picturesque stadium, sitting in the middle of a field just off a main road and before kick off the sunset really boosted the ground’s beauty.
For a team of that size, the arena was aesthetically really impressive on this Tuesday evening.

Facilities – 3/5

Again, the facilities surprised me, being far better than I expected.
The outside shop offered hot drinks which was very much welcomed, in particular the Bailey’s hot chocolate which was nothing short of exceptional.
The inside bar provided food and more drinks, with different pies on offer as well as a pulled pork sandwich that I opted for at a slightly pricey £4.
The food was solid but nothing to write home about but it was nice to see a club offering something different to the norm.
Class – 3/5
The ground looked new as if it had been recently improved with one small stand to sit at and two other sheltered areas to stand.
The majority of people chose to stand right next to the pitch with just the advertising boards separating them from the players which made the experience something I can only describe as a ‘proper football game.’
Overall – 13/25
Overall, it was a pleasantly surprising experience, everyone was very friendly and the club offered a lot of unique experiences.
From the food to a half time raffle draw, a trip Longridge Town is highly recommended but wrap up warm because it gets unfathomably cold.
